Celebrating 35 years of Land Rover Discovery with the Discovery 35^th Edition

September 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the launch of the original Discovery as Land Rover’s first multi-purpose 4x4. Focused on group travel in comfort, Discovery arguably created the SUV category. An original since 1989, it is one of the most capable and versatile full seven-seat luxury SUVs in the world. Land Rover Discovery will always represent the joys of travel and togetherness.

The Discovery family was further expanded in 2014 with the introduction of an equally versatile Discovery Sport. The ultimate family explorer had itself become a family.

The Land Rover Discovery family combines an exceptional human-centred design evolution with a versatile and intelligently packaged interior which embodies the spirit of family adventure that has characterised the name plate for 35 years.

To celebrate its 35th Birthday a number of special events will be run by Land Rover up and down the country, helping to amplify its heritage and strengthen its position as the original family SUV brand. Events to look out for include secret cinema and equestrian events.

Designed for family adventure whatever the weather, Discovery 35th Edition uses the Metropolitan model as a baseline with additional standardised features that strongly tie in with Discovery’s ethos.

Limited to just 250 units in either Santorini Black or Carpathian Grey, Discovery 35th Edition will initially be deployed as the 25 model year showroom demonstrator vehicle, providing an attractive proposition at the enticing pricing of £79,990 OTR. The remaining production will be available for clients order and delivery this summer.
