Duckworth Motor Group at The Lincolnshire Show
Duckworth Lincolnshire Show Marque

The annual Lincolnshire Show is a celebration of local agriculture, food and drink, products, charities and businesses. This year’s exhibition showcased an array of farming equipment, vehicles, and innovative automotive technology. We were also blessed over the two days with so much sunshine! Duckworth Motor Group’s presence included not only our usual vehicle showcase, but sponsorship of the VIP cars, entrance signs, and car parking passes. We also enjoyed catching up with customers over afternoon tea in our hospitality tent.

A Showcase of Elegance and Innovation

As you stepped into the Duckworth stand the first thing that intrigued visitors was the sheer variety of vehicles on display, from the latest models to classic cars such as the Land Rover Trophy that evoked plenty of nostalgia. All of our Lincs based stores brought vehicles to display, including Jaguar Land Rover Boston and Market Rasen, our Select Used Cars, and Isuzu store in Kirton.

For those of us who appreciate the more classic cars inside our marquee we hosted a mid-1980s white 2.5 litre Land Rover 90 that originally belonged to the Duckworth family – it has since been subject to a fantastic restoration project. It certainly created a buzz within the tent with many visitors asking questions and reminiscing on the “golden age” of motoring.

The Land Rover Trophy

The Eastnor Yellow V8 Defender 110 Trophy lent to us by Land Rover Classic in pristine condition was another crowd favourite. Honouring the original Defender’s formidable 70-year expedition legacy and its illustrious role in the world's most demanding all-terrain competitions. Only 25 of these V8 Trophy vehicles have been built, each one taking the Works V8 Defender as its base, with 400bhp 5.0-litre V8 with 380lb ft of torque, matched up to an eight-speed auto.

Win this Car

We were lucky enough to host a pristine Toylander built by local community group the Askefield Project. This Toylander kit car was built at Peter’s Eden Farm, a community farm in Friskney near Boston. The project was funded by an Inequalities VCSE Grant to help support young people with their mental health and to allow them to develop new skills. The Toylander was built over 10 weeks by a group of young people and has kindly been painted by Duckworth Land Rover in Boston.

You can become the proud owner of this fantastic children’s battery ride-on car by entering the official raffle. The proceeds of the raffle will go towards running the project again, when next time we will be working to build a Toylander 90.

Land Rover Experience Day Competition Winner Announced

We also had a brilliant competition running at the showground which was to win a Land Rover Experience Day. This is a great way for the lucky winner to get to see the capability of Land Rover vehicles. The competition winner is  Jake Summers from Lincoln, who will be off to Rockingham Castle to drive around the course at Welland Valley – congratulations!
