Local Amenities Kirton, Boston

Where can I go to eat and drink whilst my vehicle is booked in at Duckworth Motor Group Boston?

When you come in to see us at our Boston store we can take care of you in our on-site barista bar, but you may want to pop off-site and explore the local area. If you are looking for a bite to eat whilst we look after your vehicle, here are our top recommendations.

The Old King’s Head Kirton

The Old King’s Head, standing in Kirton for over 400 years, boasts a storied past and is a building cherished by the local people. Heritage Lincolnshire, the Buildings Preservation Trust for the county, came to the building's rescue in 2016 as the building stood proud, but vulnerable to irreparable damage. Through fundraising and grants the trust raised enough money to purchase the building and carry out the extensive restoration works that have been ongoing since February 2019. After two years with our building contractors on site, The Old King’s Head opened to the public on Friday 1st October 2021 as a café, 9-bedroom B&B and community room available for hire. Within walking distance from our store, pop over for afternoon tea, hot and cold food, coffee and delicious cakes.

Ivy’s Farm Shop

Ivy's Farm Shop is a popular local establishment just down the road in Swineshead. The farm shop is well-regarded for offering a wide range of locally sourced produce and high-quality goods, emphasising fresh, seasonal, and locally-produced items. The shop prides itself on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors, aiming to foster a connection between the community and local agriculture. It’s a place where people can find not just high-quality food but also engage in a more personalized shopping experience compared to larger supermarkets. Ivy’s Farm Shop is a favoured stop for both locals and visitors passing through the region, and its emphasis on local produce makes it a key part of the food landscape in Swineshead.

Mountain Boston Sausage

Dedicated to making the finest quality handmade Lincolnshire sausages, the family-run Mountain's Boston Sausage is a traditional butcher serving highest quality meats. The butcher’s shop was established in 1852. In 1904 the first of the Mountain generation, Jabez Holland Mountain, joined the firm where he researched recipes and started the foundations that are being continued today. The shop traded as a general butcher until 1985, when it was decided to concentrate on premium pork products and to specialise in Lincolnshire Sausages. At the same time the name was changed, and we now trade as Boston Sausage, and are currently in the fourth generation of the Mountain family. Visit the fantastic Abbey Parks Farm Shop at Heckington for butcher, bistro, gifts and a hot food concession, or visit the famous butcher’s shop in Boston town centre at 13 High Street (closed Sunday and Monday).

The village of Kirton, a 2-minute walk from our store is also home to an eat-in fish and chip shop – The Golden Fryer, a Co-Op, a flower and gift shop, and a post office.
