Over the past two months, Duckworth Motor Group Boston has welcomed photography students from Boston College to our retailer to assist them with their latest project. The idea being, to photograph any aspect of the business, be that the people, the architecture or of course, the cars themselves to practice their commercial photography skills and align with a client brief and branding. The final images will then be whittled down and five will be hand selected by our marketing team and presented in a carousel advert on our social media channels. This has given the students some vital real life work experience that we encourage them to include in their future CVs. Having a relationship in their chosen field with a luxury brand is valuable, and it has been a pleasure to give them that opportunity.
The students have had the chance to get hands-on with our vehicles, including demonstrator and approved used cars. We were keen to give them the freedom to make their own choices when it came to which part of the business they’d prefer to capture and if that happened to be specific vehicles, we have assisted in maneuvering said vehicles into photogenic positions.
Something that has been extremely positive, is the enthusiasm the students have shown, not only for their chosen vocation, but for the products JLR have to offer. Being able to put ‘names-to-faces’ when it comes to the likes of Range Rover and Defender has been an exciting process, and when given the opportunity, their curiosity to explore the cars was very inspiring.
Make sure you follow and keep an eye on our social media channels to view our on-going project with the college and ultimately the final photographs chosen for our post. The winning student photographer will of course be rewarded for their efforts with a prize. Watch this space.
